Master Gardener Stephen Cantù presents Friendly Inclusive Gardening (FIG). In this presentation, Stephen discusses ways to make gardening more accessible to people with physical challenges, seniors with mobility issues, or anyone just looking to learn techniques to make their garden work for them. Stephen will also discuss how connecting with nature can boost your mental health and help you cultivate a peaceful and healing space.
Presenter Bio: Stephen Cantu is a two-time Paralympian and UCCE Master Gardener. His inclusive gardening effort uses principles of universal design to make gardens accessible for all age groups and abilities.
Carlsbad City Library’s Grow Your Garden program lets you swap succulents, seeds, fruit, vegetables and herbs from your garden with your neighbors and learn new gardening techniques.

Master Gardener Association of San Diego County’s Tool Care committee will be available to sharpen one pruner or lopper per gardener.
