There is an increasing number of third party tools to help us analyze our DNA matches.  This talk identifies some of the key tools and which ones work best depending on your research question.  To get you started, practical examples of how to use a couple of the tools are presented including What Are The Odds? (WATO) and BanyanDNA.

The DNA Interest Group is a partnership program between Carlsbad City Library and the North San Diego County Genealogical Society. This program is designed to educate and inform people about the use of DNA testing for genealogical purposes through lectures on DNA. The DNA Interest Group is open to people who have all levels of computer and genealogy experience.

The program is held the third Saturday of the month from January through November and is presented in person and virtually.

• Doors open at 12:30 p.m. for social time.
• Presentations, including question-and-answer sessions, are held from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
• Breakout discussions and individualized help is usually available until 3 p.m.
