Carlsbad City Library cardholders can now check out a hiking backpack to borrow from the library, which includes a FREE California State Parks day-use vehicle pass and hiking accessories. Perfect for a grand adventure in our region's parks and trails!

Backpacks can be checked out for 10 days, and each one holds:

• One California State Parks Pass valid for entry of one passenger vehicle with capacity of nine people or less or one highway licensed motorcycle (doesn’t cover other fees)
• One pair of binoculars
• One compass
• One California wildlife guide
• One California wildflowers guide
