Help us reach our community goal of 150,000 minutes of reading!

From Jan. 1 to Jan. 31, Carlsbad City Library is hosting the annual Winter Reading Challenge on the Beanstack platform. Participants will earn badges and rewards for reading during the month of January to help us meet our community reading goal of 150,000 minutes – that’s just over one minute of reading for every resident of Carlsbad!

Individual participants of all ages will earn a reward for registering for the challenge and another for meeting the individual reading goal of 240 minutes between Jan. 1-31, while supplies last. 

If you have a family member that cannot read on their own, you may read to them to count towards their minutes.

Register for the challenge and track your reading on our Beanstack site at carlsbadlibrary.beanstack.org or on the Beanstack mobile app. Here’s how it works:

• Register – Visit carlsbadlibrary.beanstack.org or use the Beanstack Tracker app for Android or iOS. Log into your account, or create one if you are a new reader. Sign up for the Winter Reading Challenge and select your appropriate age or grade.

• Record – Read and track minutes to earn badges. Track your progress in Beanstack.

• Rewards – Readers of all ages earn a reward for registration. Read 240 minutes to receive a Dave and Busters Power Card, while supplies last.
