The City of Carlsbad’s TGIF Concerts in the Parks series will feature nine free summer concerts in 2025, 2026 and 2027, continuing one of the city’s most popular annual traditions.  

On Tuesday, the Carlsbad City Council approved the dates and locations for the concerts after hearing a report from city staff about how things went last year. The 2024 concerts included new security measures, such as bag screening and controlled entrances and exits, that align with best practices for large public events.  

• The security changes went smoothly and will continue in 2025. Some attendees had initially worried the changes would detract from the community feel of TGIF, but they later commented the impacts were minimal. Many thanked the city for working to ensure public safety. 

• Concert locations will remain the same, too, with shows at Stagecoach Park, Calavera Hills Park and Alga Norte Park. (Poinsettia Park is not included because its layout doesn’t work well with the new security protocols.) 

• In 2025 and 2026 there will be a one-week break in the concerts because of the Fourth of July holiday, which falls on a Friday and Saturday.
