We’re just days away from the starting line! Kick off the New Year with a winning resolution. 

The 2026 Winter Reading Challenge: The Reading Olympics launches Jan. 1 at all Carlsbad Library locations. There’s no better way to start the year than by going for gold with a reading goal. 

Readers of all ages are invited to turn their New Year’s resolutions into action by setting fresh goals, exploring new genres, and joining our community-wide reading challenge. 

Register through Beanstack, then stop by any library location to claim your registration rewards including Dave & Buster’s Power Vouchers and Bitchin’ Sauce free coupons (while supplies last). 

Every minute counts. Log your reading time to track your personal progress and help our community reach its bold New Year goal of 250,000 minutes read. 

Participants who read 240 minutes during the challenge will score entries into a raffle for experience-based prizes, including:

• Free skate passes to Ice Realm Skating Rink
• Free music and vocal lessons from Ascend Music Studios 

Children ages 0–4 will be entered into their own dedicated raffle with age-appropriate rewards, so even the youngest readers can start the year strong.
