Music, laughter and a love for literacy recently filled the City of Carlsbad’s Sculpture Garden. Dozens of children tapped, chimed and drummed their way through the garden’s new percussion play instruments on Wednesday morning.
The Percussion Play Project features seven kid-friendly musical sculptures designed for hands-on exploration. The instruments are part of Carlsbad’s ongoing efforts to create welcoming spaces that invite creativity, exploration and play for all ages.
A librarian from Cole Library read stories about music before the kids got to make some music of their own.
The display is made possible by the generosity of the Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation. Learn more about the exhibit.
