A New York Times best-selling author is coming to Carlsbad City Library next week.
Author Tess Gerritsen, creator of the Rizzoli & Isles series and a San Diego native, will discuss her latest novel, "The Shadow Friends."
Gerritsen will talk about her writing career, why suspense continues to connect with readers and how her crime series has changed over time.
A large crowd is expected for this event. Free tickets will be distributed starting at 11 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open 30 minutes before the program begins. Stick around following the discussion for a book signing in the courtyard.
