Carlsbad City Library is excited to announce the addition of electric induction cooktops now available for checkout with your library card. This initiative aligns with the Carlsbad Community Vision Core Value of sustainability and supports the city's Climate Action Plan by promoting building electrification and decarbonization for a healthier environment.

Reserve an induction cooktop today to explore energy-efficient cooking technology without the financial commitment! Borrowing an induction cooktop is a great way to experience firsthand the benefits of sustainable living. Cooktops generously donated by the United States Green Building Council - California and the Carlsbad Chapter of Sierra Club.

Borrowing a cooktop

Carlsbad City Library cardholders can borrow an induction cooktop with compatible pan; check it out just like a library book!

Place a hold on a cooktop using the library catalog or by calling the Information Desk at 442-339-2038.
Pick up your cooktop at the Accounts Desk at any of our three locations and sign a waiver to check out. Induction cooktops are only available for patrons ages 18+.
Enjoy your cooktop for 10 days before returning to an Accounts Desk at any Carlsbad City Library location. You will need to clean your cooktop and pan prior to returning.
Induction cooktops are eligible for up to three automatic renewals.
