The Carlsbad City Library is offering an easy, fun and free program that puts children on the path to success. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a nationwide program that encourages parents to instill the enjoyment of reading to their little ones. Children from ages birth to 5 years old are eligible to enroll in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.
Each registering child will receive a starter paper tracker, and a Carlsbad City Library branded book bag while supplies last.
Reading is tracked online through Beanstack by an adult. Paper trackers are optional but are highly encouraged for children to practice their writing skills.
Children are eligible for Major Milestone Rewards when they have read 250, 500, 750 and finally 1,000 books.
