How it Works 

• Search the LINK+ catalog and find the title you are not able to find at Carlsbad City Library. If you can't find it, you may request an interlibrary loan.  

• If the item status is "AVAILABLE," click "Request it", then select "Carlsbad City Library" from the drop-down menu and click "Submit." 

• Enter your name, library card number, select your preferred location from the drop-down menu, and click "Submit." 

• If the item is available, you will see the message "Your request was successful." 

• The library will notify you when your item is ready for pick up. 

• Check your LINK+ account online to view current requests or renew eligible items.

How are LINK+ materials checked out? 

When you receive notification, your LINK+ materials will be ready for you to checkout at the library location you selected upon request. Items are held for 10 days. LINK+ items are not kept on the self-service holds shelves. Please ask a staff person for assistance. Return your items to any Carlsbad City Library as you would with regular library items.

LINK+ Renewals 

• LINK+ items can be renewed once for an additional 3 weeks if not in demand. Renew online or by calling the library at 442-339-2019.

• LINK+ items cannot be renewed any sooner than 72 hours prior to the due date.  

• Items that are overdue or in demand might not be eligible for renewal. 

Further Guidelines 

• Check the Library's online catalog before using LINK+. If Carlsbad City Library does not own the item, or if all copies are unavailable, you may request a copy from LINK+ if there is one with "AVAILABLE" status. 

• Borrowers are limited to three LINK+ items at a time.

• Please do NOT remove the LINK+ information label from the book at any time.
